RNLC 2010 PROJECTS
The Re-New London Council Board has added two major projects and will continue to project support for 3 other projects from 2009. The 2010 Projects are:
Thames Valley Sustainable Connections is a new project which was initiated through RNLC board based on the 6 building Business Alliance for Living Economies (BALLE). The launch of monthly Southeastern Connecticut breakfast roundtables with stakeholders who touch each of those building blocks (sustainable agriculture, green building, renewable energy, zero waste manufacturing, independent locally owned retail, and community capital) convene throughout locations throughout the area.
Re-Connecting New London which is a set of workshops to re-envision the north end of New London, the community referred to as Hodges Square, and the two campuses - Connecticut College and the US Coast Guard Academy.
Work will continue on:
Land Value Taxation and the Pilot initiative
Greater New London Farm to City Coalition as fiduciary and specifially Phase II which is establishing a Public Food Interest Broker and working through Greater New London Farm to City Network evolution.
New London Local First as a thriving network of local owned independently run businesses.
